Beautiful in thick Indiana clay
By Backyard Neophyte
from Indianapolis, IN
About Me Getting Started
Arrived as a tiny sprout just 2 inches in diameter but with deep healthy roots - I would not have believed that this would grow into a full 18" diameter dome of dense gorgeous purple flowers in one season especially in my thick clay soil. You can see them from 10 houses down, bigger and fuller than all my neighbors' grocery store mums.

Purple Dome indeed!
Waiting for This Year
from Sheridan, WY
All 3 plants survived a difficult winter that killed several established perennials and some trees. They didn't bloom last summer but this spring are definitely looking healthy and seem to be just starting to bud.

I live in North Central Florida, and all (only 3 so far) of my asters are blooming NOW...May 12, 2015, they started to bloom about a week ago!!! These plants bloomed last Fall for the first time. Very healthy plants, and evergreen! I would say my plants are less than a year old, I am surprised they are blooming now.

This plant looks great for weeks without special attention. It has an attractive, balanced shape and the purple flowers add vibrant color to my garden. The colors really stand out against my drab bark mulch.

bright autumn color
from Meadow, Utah
This adds bright color in the fall. It is a favorite of butterflies and bees. A last meal before winter setting in. I am looking for the bright pink aster I have seen. Hope that is available sometime. My area is a zone 4. Though the maps say zone 5, with the cold, dry winds we get in the summer and spring I have found that plants that are zone 5 can't take it.
I would buy again
from Wray, CO
I planted these beauties in spring and by late summer they were full grown plants that bloomed and stayed in bloom until frost!
I would buy this product again and again
from aloha oregon
I use the asters as fall color in my yard. The purple color is a wonderful, I can't think of anything that is not great about this plant.
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
