Comments about High Country Gardens Artemisia Powis Castle:
I ordered these three to replace three that were robbed from one of the preplanned gardens I got from BCG. They must be very tasty as right after I planted the preplanned garden last spring, some critter came and ate all three of these plants, and left the others alone!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I planted two artemisia during the last week of June. I normally wouldn't write a review so early, but they have grown more in six months than many other perennials I planted earlier than that. They are not fazed by high winds, heat, or cold. We have already had many days with low temps in the 0s and teens, and snow and sleet. I don't think this plant is listed as evergreen, but both of mine are still the same silvery mint green, which is nice to see in wintertime. The one that gets full sun is a bit larger than the one that gets a little bit of afternoon shade, but both are looking very healthy. The rabbits have avoided them, as well; maybe gravel mulching helps with that.

Far Exceeded Expectations
from Colby, KS
About Me Getting Started
I don't usually write reviews, however I have become a High Country "Believer". I have ordered plants (75 - 100 individual plants) from High Country for the last two years and I have never lost one! Seriously, how often does that happen. They are fantastic, provide thorough instructions for planting and care and all my plants are beautiful. I live in a very dry area so I have gravitated toward drought tolerant plants and my gardens look beautiful. The Artemisia far exceeded my expectations, it is bigger than the size given in the description and it really hardy. Love High Country and we'll be buying more each and every year!

from Wilson, Idaho High Mountain Desert
I planted 3 of these and could not be happier. They are preforming very well and came back after a hard winter and a severe pruning. I have had to cut them back a little as they have grown over some of my succulents but it really makes the plants more attractive. When they say they spread 30", believe it and plan for it.

Sunny and Dry
By Montana Girl
from SW Montana, 4380 feet altitude
I planted this last spring in morning sun and afternoon shade. It received water every 7-10 days in sandy soil, but its habit was floppy and spreading. I plan to move it this spring into full sun all day in a drier location where its shape should be more thrifty.
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
