Robert Swanson Oriental Trumpet Lily Bulbs
Oriental Trumpet Lily Robert Swanson
36-44" tall. Oriental Trumpet Lily ‘Robert Swanson’ has eye-popping color and sweet fragrance. Its brilliant red flowers are gently recurved, edged in a buttery yellow and contrasted by the lime-green stigmas. This hardy lily with copious amounts of big 7-inch blooms is a perfect choice for easy-care, mid-to late summer color. Plant in well-drained compost enriched soil in a full to part sun location. ‘Robert Swanson’ likes to have its feet in the shade but blooms in the sun. It does not have a big footprint so it’s perfect for planting in your perennial beds. Growing 36-44 inches tall, each bulb may yield up to 40 blooms! ‘Robert Swanson’ Lilies make wonderful cut flowers. Consider roses, Agastache and late summer Salvia as companions. Cold hardy in zones 3-8.

Suggested Companion Plants:
USDA Hardiness Planting Zones
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
- If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
- If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
