Comments about High Country Gardens Muhlenbergia dubia (Heronswood strain):

I planted this grass in late May next to an adobe wall surrounded by gravel mulch along a walk-way. It was slow to take off but by late summer had lovely tall feathery plumes and was really a landscape show-stopper. After several plumes toppled in the wind, I cut them off and used inside as ornament. Lovely, hardy, plant!

Comments about High Country Gardens Muhlenbergia dubia (Heronswood strain):

I LOVE this plant. I have had one, from this company, in the front yard by the mailbox for years. I love it and so do my neighbors. The dog walkers watch for it to bloom every fall. I bought two more this year for my back yard, where I can see them from the whole house.

The plants were perfectly packaged and in great shape for planting. They have grown nicely this season and plan to buy more to group together for more impact.

        Q & A

        Suggested Companion Plants:

        USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

        • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
        • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
