Megabucks Bearded Iris (Iris germanica Megabucks) lights the late spring to early summer garden with its warm, sunny disposition. Cheerful and harmonious, its golden crown is accompanied by fuchsia falls edged in butterscotch with a matching butterscotch beard. Standing tall at 32-38", Megabucks Bearded Iris announces the warmth of summer days to come.
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low
temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will
survive the winter temperatures in your area.
If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack
of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
Megabucks Bearded Iris (Iris germanica Megabucks) is rich in jewel-toned yellow-gold standards with fuchsia-rose falls edged in a coppery hue. At 32-38" tall, this late spring to early summer bloomer has sturdy, well branched stems with 8-9 double socketed buds, ensuring a dramatic display. Easy to grow, plant them in a sun to part shade spot (at least ½ day of sun) with good drainage. They will grow and multiply creating a beautiful drift of color in the late spring garden. Plant with Oriental Poppies or Salvia ‘Little Night’ for an eye-catching, colorful spread. Deadhead the spent blooms by popping them off with a thumb and cut back the flower stems when blooming is finished. The strong vertical leaves will continue to add a nice element to your garden all season long.
