Comments about High Country Gardens eGift Card By Email:

Even though there are multiple states between us, my dad and I both love gardening and stay close across the miles by talking on the phone together to compare notes about climate, what's blooming, etc.
I sent him a gift certificate to share your wonderful company with him, especially because he gets frustrated by the big box offerings available locally in his area. They are not customized enough to his growing conditions and often end up dying!
He was able to go to your website and filter for plants that he desired that would have the best chance of making it in his particular region.
I am looking forward to visiting him and seeing his little corner of HCG, and looking forward to him visiting me so I can show him how I have chosen to "Paint" my yard with your plants!
Thank you for offering quality, sturdy and unusual plants that I can be proud to share with my family.

    Q & A

    Suggested Companion Plants:

    USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

    • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
    • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
