The New Responsive Website

You may have noticed that our website looks slightly different. Don't worry. Our 100% guaranteed, high quality perennials, flower bulbs, and wildflower seeds haven't changed; we've just made some improvements to our website. The new HCG website is more user friendly to provide our customers with a better online shopping experience. We also wanted a simpler, clean design, and our web developers worked hard to accomplish this while improving the functionality and speed of our site.

What's New?

For starters, we have rolled out a responsive website, which means you can view our site on your mobile phone or tablet more easily. No matter what device you are using, our site will display clearly on any screen size, from a cell phone to a desktop. As for the new look, our goal was to enhance the original HCG theme with new fonts, colors, and images.

In addition to the new display, our new checkout cart makes it much easier to view your cart while you are shopping. When you click on the cart icon at the top of your screen, you will see all the items in your cart displayed in the window. Or you can click on "Checkout Now" to go directly to the checkout page, where you can also review your cart before placing your order.

Live Chat

We have also made it easier to message us directly from our site by adding a more visible live chat tab. Simply click on the green, "Chat With Us" button on the bottom right corner of the screen to chat with one of our friendly Customer Service Representatives. We are here Monday through Friday from 7am-5pm MT.

Updated Gardening Blog

One of the most exiting improvements to our site is our re-tooled gardening blog, where you can find all the same helpful articles a lot faster and easier than before. The new search tool allows you to search archived blog posts for gardening tips, product information, and help with landscape and garden design. Our new look includes a colorful featured image and a short excerpt for a quick view of the posts in each category.

We hope you like our new look, and that our upgrade has made your High Country Gardens experience even better. We are constantly making improvements, and we are always open to suggestions. Feel free to contact us with questions or feedback.

Vernonia lindheimeri (Woolly Ironweed) is a showy perennial that thrives where conditions are tough. This resilient plant can handle low fertility soil, dry climates, and resists deer and rabbits. Woolly Ironweed has a gentle upright habit, sturdy stems, and fine fuzzy foliage with an airy texture. Silvery buds open to clusters of bright magenta disc flowers in mid-to-late summer. Blooming for 6 weeks or more, the flowers nourish native bees and other pollinators. A North American native perennial from Texas and Northern Mexico, its common name comes from its iron-like qualities – both durability and seed clusters the color of rust.
