Comments about High Country Gardens Hori Hori Knife:
The plants that set well in the hard dry soil of my 7000' garden have tenacious roots. When I want to transplant a native or weed an invasive, the Hori Hori is my go to tool!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Very useful and versatile tool for the gardener.
from Fort Collins, CO
I discovered this tool by accident many years ago from a hardware store conversation with a stranger. Based on her description of its use and versatility I bought one and used it for over 10 years. When I lost it I immediately ordered a new one, this time from High Country Gardens, because I didn't want to start the spring season of gardening without it. (I then found my old one so I can give this new one to a friend.) I will comment that the "holster" type thing that came with it is flimsy and, in my opinion, not useful. I discarded it.

This is my favorite tool in the garden shed. I don't know how I got along without it for digging in hard soil that I have plenty of, dividing plants, clearing areas.

My favorite all purpose tool

About Me Master Gardener
This tool replaces two or three tools I used to use. I put it in my weeding basket, and go out to my gardens and for all my tasks. I use only this knife.

I couldn't garden without it. It's a good, solid, well-made tool. I inadvertantly left it in the garden over the winter and found it in the spring, still in excellent condition. Cleaned it off and use it daily. It's extremely versatile and useful and I haven't found the need to buy any additional special-purpose tools.

Best garden tool ever!
Not only great for cutting, but digging weed too! Very sharp and lightweight.
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
