It took about three weeks till I saw any growth. I called cs and they explained that since it was a larger bulb it can take longer. Sure thing, it started growing to this amazing double bloom. It grew well outside for the summer and now I will be taking it in so I can dry it out for it's next round in January.

I started two bulbs as Christmas gifts for my mom and my mother-in-law. Wanted something out of the ordinary, and these sure are. The delicate shading is just breathtaking! Hadn't grown Amaryllis in years so I wasn't sure how early to start, but shipping time was spot-on, both plants were blooming gloriously by 3rd week of December. (This in spite of having to grow them in a less-than-ideal location!) Repeat blooms kept them looking good for a long time, both recipients said their guests had many positive comments. My mom asked me to take her Amaryllis back for the summer and set it out in my flowerbed. I just brought it indoors last week, we are hoping to see it repeat last year's splendid display this winter.
