Sedum plants (Stonecrop) have succulent foliage, are drought tolerant and are an important nectar source for bees and butterflies. Perennials, sedum prefer very well drained soil and full sun. The tall Sedum bloom in late summer and fall and light up the border in shades of red and pink. Sedum make excellent cut flowers and are good for drying. One of the most popular plants for green roofs, the roof of the Ford Truck Plant in Deerborn, Michigan boasts over 10 acres of sedum!
