Why Plant Helianthus maximiliana?

Big and vigorous, perennial Maximilian’s Sunflower (Helianthus maximiliana) is a perennial native plant that thrives in harsh growing conditions and poor soils (including heavy clay). It is a good perennial for habitat gardens and blooms in the late summer/early fall. It should be used along fences, against walls, sheds and other places where its large size is most useful. A High Country Gardens specialty, we offer three improved cultivars of Maximilian's Sunflower.
