Prized for its long bloom period, coreopsis typically produces sunny yellow flowers, and grows from 15" to 4 ft. in height. Tickseed, as it is sometimes known, attracts butterflies and is deer resistant.
Coreopsis are easily grown, and make good cut flowers. These plants prefer well-drained soil in full sun. Coreopsis have a long bloom time, from mid-summer through early fall. Remember to keep the plants deadheaded for best flowering. Make sure to leave a few seed heads at the end of the season so the plant will reseed itself.
