Do the gardeners in your life have everything? Be the elf that goes over-the-top this year and treat them to things they might not buy for themselves.

I poked around the Garden Center with an eye to fantasy gifts and the following is only a smidgen of the possibilities I found.

How about:

  • A beautiful glazed pot planted with a colorful Cyclamen.
  • A mesh veggie gathering bag filled with seed packets for next spring.
  • A pair of gauntlet gloves for pruning those thorny problems.
  • A phone and garden pocket for the gardener who can’t miss a call.
  • Our specially made Garden Dishes with fantasy gardens of succulents and cacti.
  • Tiny pots for tiny plants.
  • A lovely container with potting soil and a gift certificate for flowers next spring.
  • A palm tree that softens a room.
  • A trellis for those coming vines next summer.

Or take a watering can and fill it, not with water, but with all sorts of goodies: hose nozzles, wildflower seeds, a rain gauge, twine and snippers with replacement blades.

No gardener can have too many buckets. Why not pack a big one with a coil hose, a water wand, a packet of plant ties and labels. You can also stick in some nice garden note cards, books and even a tropical plant or two.

And who doesn’t need another pair of gardening gloves? At a loss for size and style? Perfect. Give one of our Gift Certificates.

Another idea that will make visions of spring planting dance in their heads is a bundle of peat pots with a stack of vegetable seed packets all in a sprouting tray to set in a sunny window. And I’d love it if someone would fill my stocking with a short handled shovel and a small grip trowel.

‘Tis the season to turn your gift-giving loose and have some fun.
