Facts

King of the prairie, Big Bluestem ranges over a wide section of the US, beautifying our grasslands with its stately beauty. 'Big Daddy' was selected by nurseryman and prairie expert Neil Diboll of Prairie Nursery in WI. Neil spotted the original plant in his field with "its compact habit, upright and stiff stems, and bright reddish seedheads." Easily grown in poor-to-average garden soils. Nice colorful fall foliage.
