1" x 4-6" wide, (seed propagated). I've found this unique succulent to be both beautifully rugged and quite cold hardy. Native to the northern grasslands of South Africa, Transvaal Iceplant grows as a low foliar mat with a huge carrot-like taproot. The handsome chocolate to gray-brown colored foliage makes the perfect backdrop of the showy yellow striped flowers. An oportunistic bloomer, it can flower from early spring into summer when conditions are to its liking. Plant into a lean, fast-draining soil with gravel mulch. Good companion plant for "Rabia":/catalog/product/81000/. Zones (5?)6-10. 3" deep Standard pot.
