Originally bred for use as a non-woody windbreak in western commercial vegetable fields, this selection is larger and has much showier flowering spikes than is exhibited in its unimproved native form. With its spectacular summer-blooming flower spikes, this giant form of Sporobolus can serve as a specimen plant to enjoy or may be planted in a row to create a living fence or windbreak. Zone 5-9
