12" tall x 24-30" wide. (Cutting propagated) A rare subspecies of the widespread native Phlox pilosa, Sangamon River Prairie Phlox is found only in a limited area around the Sangamon River in Illinois. Introduced to cultivation by Seneca Hill Perennials, it's a rugged, profuse bloomer that covers itself with bright pink flowers in mid-summer. The plant has 2" long, dark green, mildew resistant, linear leaves on a low mounding plant with that blend easily into the perennial border with other taller perennials. A proven performer in my high desert test gardens, this perennial will grow well through out the intermountain West as well as the Eastern and Midwestern US. Zones 5-8. 5" deep Premium pot.
