3' x 6-8' wide, (cutting propagated). An heirloom shrub, Weeping Winter Jasmine was introduced from China in the 1840's. This stunning, rarely offered species is noted for its early spring display of bright, non-fragrant yellow flowers and weeping, bright green stems. Here in Santa Fe (USDA Zone 6), its flowers are indifferent to the freezing temperatures, Jasminum begins blooming in early March and continues into April. The long, flexible stems allow the shrub to be grown up a trellis, along horizontal wires to create an espalier specimen (no special pruning skills needed) or simply let it spill over low walls and down steep banks. Given the Royal Horticultural Society's prestigious "Award of Garden Merit." Zones (5?) 6-10.
