The small stem (for a Ferocactus) grows 10" wide by 10 to 12" tall. The long hooked spines are very pink and contrast beautifully with the large yellow flowers. Nice planted with Agaves. Wide ranging from west TX, into NM, AZ, CA and northern MX. Very long lived, but will take a number of years to reach mature size. In colder areas, Ferocacti are easily grown in pots outside in the summer and given winter protection in a coldframe or sunroom.
