Go 'green' with this ecologically sensible lawn. You'll save time, water, fuel and money while enjoying a deep green, thick carpet of low growing, fine textured turf. The 'No Mow' seed mix is the answer to planting a low care grass lawn in the cooler, medium rainfall areas of the upper Midwest, northeastern US and higher elevations of the Intermountain West. For hotter climates and more southern areas of the country, use the 'Low Work and Water' Seed Mix. This specially blended mix of six different dwarf Fine Fescue grass varieties has been formulated to provide a very deep rooted, dense turf that needs little additional irrigation (except during dry spells without summer rains). Left unmowed, the grass blades create a wonderfully soft, swilling pattern. For a more manicured look, it can be cut once every four to six weeks to a height of 3" to 4". In the Western US, 'No Mow's' cool season growth habit is much better suited for use at elevations above 6,000-7,000 feet than warm season native grasses (like Blue Grama and Buffalo Grass). 'No Mow' is best sown in March through early May and late August through September. Use at a seeding rate of 5 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. of lawn area.
