12" x 4-6' wide (cutting propagated) This fantastic natural hybrid was originally found growing on the high, cold Uncompaghre Plateau of western CO. It is believed to be a cross between groundcover Kinnickinick (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) and the bushier growing Arctostaphylos nevadensis. The resulting plant is a robust evergreen shrub with cinnamon-red exfoliating bark and shell-pink flowers in April or early May. Dry, red fruit ripen in the fall. A perfect choice for morning sun areas like the east side of a house or in partial shade under a pine or shade tree. Plant in a well-drained soil. Keep regularly watered for the first few growing seasons to establish itself. Zones 5-8 Photo by S. Skogerboe. 5" deep premium pot size.
