The Best Shipping in the Business

Fall Plant Shipping

Fall 2008 plant shipping is August 25th through November 17th. At checkout you will be given a choice of ship dates recommended for your USDA growing zone Choose a convenient ship week and your plants will arrive by Saturday for weekend planting.

Bulbs

• Fall blooming bulbs will begin shipping mid-September.
• Spring blooming bulbs will be shipped beginning in early- to mid-October and may be shipped separately from your plants and hardgoods/books.

Non-plant Merchandise

Seeds, garden goods, ready-to-bloom bulb baskets, gifts items, gift certificates, books, and other non-plant merchandise ship within 1-2 business days. For faster delivery choose our new Express Shipping Upgrade.

Packing & Shipping Charges

Our standard shipping charges are the best value in the plant business.

Your plant orders are scheduled to arrive at your door, fresh and ready-to-plant, within 4 days or less of leaving our greenhouses. Plants are shipped to arrive by Saturday, in time for weekend planting. We cannot guarantee arrival on a specific day.

Express Shipping Upgrades*

• 2nd Day Air - Same week 2nd Day plant shipping must be placed by midnight Tuesday.
• Overnight - Same week Overnight plant shipping must be placed by midnight Wednesday.

(*Express shipping is not available on native grass plugs, books and items over 50 lbs.)

Plant Shipping Methods

Your Order Arrives Fresh & Ready

• Plant orders arrive packed in our specially designed shipping boxes with our complete David's Helpful Hints for Transplanting Your New Plants instruction booklet. We have designed our own custom shipping boxes to hold your plants snugly and securely. No styrofoam peanuts!
• Orders are shipped through the week beginning on Mondays to arrive by Saturday for a weekend planting.
• Unlike most plant catalogs, you choose your plant ship week at checkout.

About our Plants

• All our plants are grown in pots. We don’t sell or recommend bare-root perennials or shrubs for planting in harsh western climates.
• Our potted plants arrive fully rooted, healthy and take off fast!
• Our perennial plants are generally ready-to-bloom the first growing season.
• Perennials will not grow as rapidly as annual flowers.  Planted in the garden, most perennials will require 2-3 growing seasons to reach mature size listed in the plant description.
• Patience, good soil preparation and attention to new transplants will reward you with much pleasure and beauty over the years.
• Please see our plant pot sizes. Most of our plants are sold in standard 2 1/2 " x 3" deep pot unless otherwise noted in the plant description.
