How to Guarantee High Country Gardens' E-zine Arrival

That annoying advertising email, commonly known as "spam" has become a big problem for all of us. It has reached such proportions that most email services and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have put at least one stringent blocking or filtering system in place, which all of our email must go through.

The problem is these blocking systems often stop email which you want to receive and read. In fact, you might find you are not getting the High Country Gardens' "Xeriscape Gardening News E-zines".

There is something everyone can do to keep your water-wise gardening information coming.

How to Add High Country Gardens to your Contact List:

Step 1 - Open the program in which you use to read your email.

Step 2 - Add High Country Gardens to your email address book to give you a better chance at receiving our monthly e-zine. Our email address is newsletter@highcountrygardens.com.




How to Guarantee Further the Arrival of the High Country Gardens E-zine:

Choose your email software from below...




AOL Instructions

If you are using AOL, you can ensure the delivery of your newsletters by setting your "Mail Controls."

Step 1 - Go to option "Mail Controls."

Step 2 - Select the screen name we send your newsletters.

Step 3 - Click "Customize Mail Controls for this Screen Name." Then you will need to check the version of your AOL software...

I. For AOL version 9.0:

Step 4 - Open your latest Xeriscape Gardening News e-zine e-mail.

Step 5 - Click the Add Address button (over on the right) to add the newsletter@highcountrygardens.com e-zine to your "People I Know" list.

II. For AOL version 8.0:

Step 4 - Select "Allow email from all AOL members, email addresses and domains."

Step 5 - Click "Next" until the "Save" button shows up at the bottom and then click "Save."

III. For AOL version 7.0:

Step 4 - In the section for "Exclusion and Inclusion Parameters,"

Step 5 - Add and save this domain: @highcountrygardens.com.



YAHOO Instructions

To ensure your newsletter delivery in your "Yahoo Inbox" and not the "Bulk Mail" folder, you can instruct Yahoo to filter it to your Inbox.

Step 1 - Open your Yahoo mailbox.

Step 2 - Click "Mail Options."

Step 3 - Click "Filters."

Step 4 - Next, click "Add Filter."

Step 5 - In the top row, labeled "From header," make sure "contains" is selected in the pull-down menu.

Step 6 - Click in the text box next to the pull-down menu, then enter the address in the "From" line of your most recent Xeriscape Gardening News E-zine: newsletter@highcountrygardens.com.

Step 7 - At the bottom, where it says, "Move the message to," select Inbox from the pull-down menu.

Step 8 - Click the "Add Filter" button again.




HOTMAIL Instructions

If you are using Hotmail, you can ensure that newsletters are delivered to your Inbox by adding our "From" address to your "Safe List".

Step 1 - Click the "Options" tab.

Step 2 - Select "Safe List." It is under the heading "Mail Handling."

Step 3 - In the space provided, enter the address in the "From" line of your most recent Xeriscape Gardening Newsletter or type in newsletter@highcountrygardens.com.

Step 4 - Click "Add."

Step 5 - Then you will see the address you entered in the "Safe List" box, click "OK."




OTHER PROGRAM Instructions

Many popular e-mail programs, including Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, and Netscape Mail, do not provide a convenient way for you to mark easily whom you want to receive e-mail from.

If you are using this sort of email, system and you are not getting your newsletters and want to make sure you continue to receive your newsletters in the future, you can do something about it.

Step 1 - Contact the customer service people or the Postmaster at the company that provides your e-mail or Internet connection (your ISP).

Step 2 - Explain to them that newsletters from newsletter@highcountrygardens.com are e-mails that you asked for and value.

Step 3 - Ask them if they can white-list the newsletters that you get from @highcountrygardens.com. They will probably ask you for some information about us. Please refer them to us.
