Stachys byzantina 'Silver Carpet'
Silver Carpet Lamb's Ear
Quick Facts
Legend
Description:
This non-flowering, non-reseeding selection of common Lamb’s Ear is a very well-behaved spreading groundcover with creeping stems that form a fuzzy rug of silver foliage. ‘Silver Carpet’ is an undemanding plant easily grown in most any well-drained soil. I like it with Panicum ‘Heavy Metal’ or Blue Avena grass where it provides a striking contrast with the blue and blue-gray grass blades. NOT RECOMMENDED for hot, humid, regions; the foliage will “melt” when conditions are hot and steamy. Zones 4-8.5” x 18” wide, (cutting propagated).
