Description:
5-6’ x 18” wide, (seed propagated). Originally released by New Mexico’s Los Lunas USDA-NRCS Plant Materials Center in 1963. Grow ‘Llano’ for its large mature size, its vigor, its killer blue foliage and showy, fall ripening bronze-colored seed heads. Indiangrass foliage is used as larval food by butterflies. Wild turkey and prairie birds eat its seeds and use its foliage for cover.
