Legend
Description:
3-4’ x 18” wide (seed propagated) Indiangrass is one of our most ornamental native grasses, admired for its golden seed heads, nice fall coloration and sturdy, upright growth habit. ‘Cheyenne’ is a selection made originally in OK and has good tolerance to drier growing conditions. Indiangrass foliage is used as a larval food by butterflies. Wild turkey and prairie birds eat its seeds and use its foliage for cover.
Zones 3-8.
