Description:
5-6’ x 3’ wide (seed propagated) This giant native bunch grass is spectacular when the stiff, towering seed stalks push up through the arching upright leaves in late summer. A vigorous grower, Giant Sacaton Grass is at home in a variety of soils as long as they are well-drained. Sporobolus is xeric, but will grow most vigorously with bimonthly deep watering when rain is scarce. Cut back hard to one foot in early spring. Zones 5-9.
