Quick Facts
Legend
Description:
12” x 8-10” wide, (seed-division propagated). A stunning, rarely offered yellow-flowered species from Argentina, Sysyrinchium macrocarpum is a delight in late spring when the plant is covered in masses of bright yellow, nickel-sized flowers. An Iris relative, this clumping perennial has attractive grass-like foliage when out of bloom. Easily grown in moisture-retentive, compost-enriched loam and clay-loam garden soils. The plant appreciates adequate soil moisture. Be sure to plant this beauty with Diascia ‘Coral Canyon’ for a memorable color combination. z5-9
