Saponaria ocymoides 'Alba'

White Flowered Soapwort

Quick Facts :: Growing Tips

Full and Afternoon Sun Morning Sun and Afternoon Shade Resists Deer  Legend

Description:

6” x 24” wide (cutting propagated) This white flowered cultivar of soapwort is unbelievably floriferous, blooming for months from spring through late summer. A vigorous grower, be sure the neighboring plants are large, robust growers so they don’t get smothered! We have not yet seen it reseed, so it may be self-sterile. (It will no doubt set seed if planted near pink soapwort.) As a companion plant, “Alba” can be used in a multitude of plant combinations, such as with Salvia ‘May Night’. Zones 3-8.

Special Notes:

Stunning with Salvia ‘May Night’, Agastache and Penstemon!
