Salvia 'Purple Majesty'
Purple Majesty Sage
Quick Facts
Legend
Description:
42-48” x 24-30” wide, (cutting propagated). ‘Purple Majesty’ is the kind of plant that creates intense plant lust in any plant lover. A showy, vigorous hybrid between Salvia gesneraeflora and Salvia guaranitica, it blooms with spikes of deep blue-purple flowers for many months beginning in mid-summer. The large, deep-green leaves are also wonderfully pleasing.
Plant in loamy, compost enriched garden soils and keep it well mulched to maintain even soil moisture. Leave standing over the winter for improved cold hardiness. To increase the number of flowering spikes, pinch the stem tips a few times before early summer.
A great container plant for colder climates, it will pull the hummingbirds up close around your patio or deck. Zones 7-10.
