Description:

15” x 18” wide, (cutting propagated). “Minimus” is valuable in the xeriscape for both its showy deep lavender-blue flowers and its dense mound of finely textured and scented leaves. It seems to tolerate more clay in its soil than other Salvia officinalis cultivars. Plant it with other late-spring bloomers like Hymenoxys acaulis.

GROWING TIPS

It seems to tolerate more clay in its soil than other Salvia officinalis cultivars, but grow it on the dry side. Shear back lightly in mid-spring to remove winter killed tips and shape the plant for the new growing season. Deadhead fade flower spikes after flowering is finished.
