Quick Facts
Legend
Description:
2” x 10-12” wide, (cutting propagated). This rarely available cultivar will be the star of your xeriscape or rockery with its late spring display of huge 1” long bluish-violet flowers. ‘Microphyllus’ has small, tidy evergreen leaves tightly arranged on trailing stems that spread slowly to form a tidy, good looking mat. As for any Penstemon, a lean well drained, non-clay soil is required. Deadhead the compact flower spikes to keep the plant healthy and looking nice. Plant with South African succulents or other small growing perennials. Zones 4-8.
