Quick Facts
Legend
Description:
18-24” x 18-24” wide (seed propagated) You will come to treasure this uniquely showy light-pink flowered species for its extravagant late spring display of flowers, its textural threadlike evergreen foliage and its legendary (at least among Penstemaniacs) drought tolerance. Penstemon ambiguous must be planted in rocky or sandy soil and remain un-irrigated once established after the first year in the ground. Combine it with other sand loving natives like Ipomea leptophylla and Pestemon palmeri. Zones 5b(-15 degrees F)-8.
