Description:

12-15” x 4-6” wide. (Seed propagated) This mountain giant, is native to the mountains of northwestern Utah. The plants eventually cluster with multiple, gold spined stems and bloom with rings of light pink flowers. This extraordinary, rarely offered P. simpsonii v. minir collection is a must have plant for rock gardeners and cactus lovers with its great cold hardiness and stunningly large, mature size. Not suitable for hot, humid climates east of the Rockies. Though smaller than our other simpsoni v. minor offerings, these are 5 year old plants. Apparently this collection needs to be in the ground for faster growth. Zones 4-7.
