Papaver orientale 'Staten Island'
Staten Island Oriental Poppy
Quick Facts
Legend
Description:
24”- 28” x 24” wide, (root cutting propagated). Large purple-red flowers with black blotches at their base make this cultivar a garden standout. It is reported to re-bloom in early fall, a most unusual characteristic for oriental poppies.
These poppies go dormant in summer, so mix them into the middle of perennial beds with other tall growing perennials to cover up the browning foliage.
Zones 3-7.
