Nolina texana
Bear Grass
Quick Facts :: Growing Tips
Legend
Description:
4’ x 4’ wide, (seed propagated). Nolina is a superb native species that grows in the form of an evergreen vase of grassy, cord-like foliage. In early summer, mature plants bloom with large woody spikes of showy, tiny white flowers. In-the-know professional landscapers use this tough-as-nails beauty like an evergreen grass. Our Nolina plants are extremely cold hardy grown from seed collected from the high mesas of eastern NM. Indifferent to soil type as long as the drainage is good. Grown in standard 3” deep pots. zones 5-9
