This little known species is native to areas in southern NM, West TX and northern Mexico where it grows on steep slopes, ridge tops, limestone rock outcrops, and along draws, at elevations of 3,300-5,000 ft. Plant in lean, fast-draining soil, avoiding heavy clay and wet locations. Combine it with Agave and Dasylirion to create a distinctive, heat-loving grouping. Zones 6-10.
