Legend
Description:
Mora Co., NM This species forms tightly spined, flat pancake-like stems to 4” in diameter. I collected the original seeds of this plant many years ago from a colony growing at a high altitude location (7,000 ft. elev.) in very rocky ground. Rings of off-white flowers around the crown followed by large bright red fruit. A very cold hardy collection of this species.
Zones 4-9.
