Geranium sanguineum 'New Hampshire'
New Hampshire Hardy Geranium
Quick Facts :: Growing Tips
Legend
Description:
8” x 18” wide (division propagated) Native to Eurasia, this adaptable species is superb for creating a dense carpet of flowers and foliage in sun and semi-shade. “New Hampshire” is the best of all the G. sanguinium cultivars, with its huge, half-dollar-size rose-pink flowers, long bloom period and restrained spreading habit. As a bonus, the finely divided cut-leaf foliage is ablaze in hues of red and orange for several months in the fall. Provide compost-enriched garden loam with regular irrigation. Coreopsis “Zagreb” makes a fine neighbor, creating a lush mix of golden-yellow and hot-pink flowers. Late spring bloom.
Zones 4-9.
Special Notes:
Plant with Coreopsis ‘Zagreb’, Delphinium and Aquilegia!
