Gymoncalycium chubutense Argentina, SA
Quick Facts
Legend
Description:
2-4” x 4-6” wide, (seed propagated). This is another high elevation Gymno species from Argentina. It has stout white spines terminating its rounded tubercules and grows as a single squat, brownish stem that is rock-hard to the touch. I’m testing it in my rock garden for cold hardiness. It needs to be protected from sitting under snow for extended periods of time. Large pinkish-white late spring flowers at the top of the stem. Nice!
Zones (6?)7-9.
