Festuca glauca 'Boulder Blue'
Boulder Blue Fescue Grass
Quick Facts :: Growing Tips
Legend
Description:
15” (in flower) x 12” wide, (division propagated). The intense blue coloration of ‘Boulder Blue’ foliage is a delight. Although not a well-known variety, this selection, made by Ted Kuettel of Golden, CO over 30 years ago, has proven itself in the harsh and erratic climate of Colorado’s front range. A larger grower than ‘Sea Urchin’, ‘Boulder Blue’ is a showy, heavy bloomer with a nice upright habit. Grows easily in any moderately fertile garden soil.
Zones 4-9
Special Notes:
Plant with long-blooming yellow Hymenoxys or Calylophus to highlight its blue foliage.
