Koenig's Snowball
Quick Facts :: Growing Tips
Legend
Description:
5” x 8”, (seed propagated). One of my favorite cacti, this “snowball-like” species has been growing for years in my Santa Fe Xeriscape Demonstration garden. Here, it has formed a 10” wide cluster of 20+ stems. Every summer the crowns of each stem are ringed with salmon-pink flowers. Plant in full, blazing sun—loves heat!
Zones 5-10.
Seed stock plants originally grown from Collection #SB92.
ESCOBARIA: This is a small genus of small, clustering cacti, native primarily to SW Texas, southern NM, AZ and northern MX. All are very heat tolerant with varying degrees of cold hardiness. They require excellent drainage and protection from constant winter moisture.
Special Notes:
Very heat tolerant.
