Description:
Doña Ana Co., NM. Another very rare species found in the foothills of south-central NM. Closely related to Escobaria leei, this beauty forms much larger (8” across) dense clusters with up to 50 or more individual stems. Pinkish flowers. Zones 5-10. Collection #SB173
ESCOBARIA: This is a small genus of small, clustering cacti, native primarily to SW Texas southern NM, AZ and northern MX. All are very heat tolerant with varying degrees of cold hardiness. They require excellent drainage and protection from constant winter moisture.
