Description:
3-5” x 3-4” wide, (Seed propagated). The native habitat of this fendleri collection is one of the coldest, driest sections of New Mexico, making this a very xeric, cold hardy plant. Grow it in the driest part of your rock garden in very well drained soil. The large purple flowers in early summer are extremely showy. Echinocereus fendleri’s fruits are a very showy red and have a lightly sweet fragrance as they ripen.
