Description:

8” x 3” (seed propagated). Bernalillo, NM. Yellow flowering form.

ECHINOCEREUS fendleri: a wide ranging species from southern NM and AZ north into the Four Corners area of NM, AZ, CO, and UT. All varieties have large red edible fruits. Stems are often solitary, but sometimes clustering to 3 or 4 stems. Easy to grow in well drained soils when keep dry in the winter and well mulched with gravel chips.
