Description:

4” tall, (seed propagated). These small plants have very short, lightly colored spines that hug the plant’s stem and a late spring display of eye-catching violet-pink flowers. This small, non-clustering subspecies that typically grows as a single stem. Plant in groups of 3 or more to mimic the colonies found in habitat. Native to the short grass prairies of north TX, eastern New Mexico and western OK.
