Delosperma sphalmanthoides
Tufted Ice Plant
Quick Facts :: Growing Tips
Legend
Description:
1/2” x 8” wide (cutting propagated). The tiny finger-like leaves grow in a tight mat resembling a small blue-green sea anemone that has anchored itself in your garden. Fuchsia-colored flowers smother the plant in very early spring. Tufted Ice Plant seems to enjoy a hot, full sun position in the rockery, where winter snows melt quickly. But don’t keep too dry during the summer heat. Zones 5-9.
Special Notes:
Simply irresistible jewel-like magenta flowers. Choice and rare South African native!
