Description:
4’ x 6’ wide, (cutting propagated). 1999 Plant Select winner. This new introduction extends the cold-hardiness range for yellow-flowered Brooms. Its evergreen stems give this Mediterranean native a nice winter presence while the profuse bright yellow flowers really wake up the xeriscape in late spring. Easily grown in a wide range of soils, Cytisus purgans is an undemanding shrub with good resistance to browsing animals. Underplant with blue-flowered “Nepeta x faassenii “Select Blue””:/catalog/product/71289/. Not recommended for planting in CA, OR and WA. Grown in Premium 5” deep pots Zones 4-9.
