Baptisia spharocarpa 'Screaming Yellow'
Screaming Yellow Indigo
Quick Facts
Legend
Description:
2-3′ x 24″ wide, (cutting propagated). A fantastic new cultivar of this hardy wildflower species, ‘Screaming Yellow’ will definitely turn up the volume in your garden when it blooms in late spring/early summer. Originally selected by Larry Loman of Ridgecrest Nursery in Wynne, Arkansas, the showy spikes of bright yellow, pea-shaped flowers and deep green foliage give the plant season long interest. The plant takes a couple of years to grow its deep root system, but will size up and bloom profusely for many years once established. Plant in non-alkaline, compost enriched, garden loam for best results.
Zones 5-8.
