Artemisia frigida
Fringed Sage
Quick Facts
Legend
Description:
10” x 8-12” wide, (seed propagated). A widespread native sage prevalent to short-grass prairie throughout the West, Fringed Sage adds a pleasing touch of gray to the lush green of the prairie grasses. The foliage forms a low mat of fragrant, feathery-gray foliage from which the flowering spikes arise in early summer. Cut back after flowering to keep the foliage thick and full. NOT RECOMMENDED for HOT, HUMID regions; the fine, woolly foliage will “melt” with the humidity. Zones 3-8.
